Obituary for Jacqueline Florence Mills (Desilets)

Jacqueline (Jackie) Florence Desilets Mills died Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at the Baypointe Nursing Home in Brockton, MA, following a period of declining health. She was born on April 22, 1923, in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, to Blanche (Hebert) and Eric Desilets.
Jackie was four years old when she emigrated to the United States, crossing the Vermont border in a farm truck with her mother and thirteen siblings. The family settled in Leominster, MA. Jackie married Armand Mills on Columbus Day, 1948 when Armand’s older brother, the Reverend Eugene Mills, officiated at the ceremony. They lived in Worcester, Ma for over 50 years. Jackie and Armand were the closest couple you could ever meet, married for 64 years until Armand’s death in 2012. Jackie is survived by her only son, John Mills, of Bridgewater, and his wife Colleen; her sister, Fernande Desilets, of Leominster; her grandson, Jason Mills and his wife Anna, of Taunton; two great-grandchildren, Alexis and Max; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 11:00 am, at St. Cecilia’s Church, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster, MA. Burial will take place at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jackie’s name to a charity of your choice.
