Obituary for Stephen T Kemmett

Kemmett, Stephen, 65, of Carver, passed away suddenly on February 2, 2018. He was born in Boston, the son of the late James and Florence (Kelley) Kemmett. He grew up in Roxbury and graduated from Dorchester High School.

Steve joined the National Guard after graduating from high school. He married Denise DeRoche and started his family while in the Guard. After completing his service, he had a few different jobs before finally settling in with the USPS, when he eventually retired in 2007. One of his most loved jobs was being a stay at home dad for his children.

Steve loved his family, first and foremost. He loved cooking, he was a self-taught cook, he was an avid gardener, he loved deep sea fishing, he loved old movies.

Steve leaves behind his children; Stephen Kemmett of Middleboro, Laura Kemmett of Middleboro, Jon Kemmett of Middleboro and Scott Kemmett of Carver. He also leaves behind his sister, Jeanne Fitzpatrick of Carver and Paul Kemmett of Wareham. He was the grandfather of Jacob, Abigail and Emma McGlew. He also leaves behind many friends and many other loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February, 10th at the Plymouth County Cemetery, 173 South Meadow Road, Plymouth at 11:00 am
