Ricardo, Richard, 57, of Plymouth, passed away surrounded by family after a brief illness at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston on October 10, 2018. He was born in Plymouth, the son of Janice (Furtado) and the late David Ricardo.

Ricky grew up in Plymouth. He was a lobsterman with his father. He loved sports. He loved the Red Sox and the Patriots to no end. He was the ultimate jokester. He loved making people laugh. He cherished his mom and loved his family. He loved cooking. He loved music. He loved gardening and being outside doing yard work.

In addition to his mother, Janice, he also leaves behind his children, Michael St. James of Plymouth, Richard Ricardo of FL, Andrew O’Neil of MA and Kaitlynn Fischer of Plymouth. He also leaves behind his sisters, Robin Vivona of Plymouth, and Patty and John Rego of Plymouth. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Manuel and Viola Ricardo and Ernest and Beatrice Furtado as well as his aunt, Diane Swales.

Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 14th from 3-6 pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 313 Court Street, Plymouth at 10:00 am on Monday, October 15th. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
