Obituary for Thomas Eric Holzgraf

Thomas Eric Holzgraf, 68 March 10, 1949 - April 20, 2017

Tom Holzgraf passed away peacefully on Thursday surrounded by family. Tom was born in Oak Ridge, TN to Carolyn and Dean Holzgraf. He grew up with his two brothers, Jim and Bob in Idaho Falls, ID and Ramsey, NJ. He fell in love with Ann Melody in October 1973, and they were married six months later. They spent almost 43 years happily together, with their two daughters, Julie Holzgraf and Sarah DeLuca, and son-in-law, James DeLuca. Tom also leaves behind his parents in Southern Pines, NC; two nephews, Jamie and Chris Holzgraf and their families; and many dear friends that he welcomed into his family.

Tom worked for Verizon for over 28 years, and volunteered with the Wachusett Greenways, the Worcester Food pantry, and the Middleboro Council on Aging. As an avid traveller, Tom visited numerous countries and all 50 states.

He had a generous heart and kind soul. He accepted his diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease with grace and optimism that he would beat this disease. His brain has been donated to the HOPE Study at Boston University Alzheimer's Disease Center to continue research.

The memorial will be held at Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth, on Sunday April 23rd from 11am - 2pm with a celebration of his life at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wachusett Greenways, where Tom volunteered and donated his handmade walking sticks.
