Obituary for Joanne Harrington (Harrington)
Joanne Harrington, 65, of Dennisport, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and loved ones on October 15, 2020. She will be remembered for her love of nature and devotion to family.
Born on February 14, 1955 in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, Joanne, or "Jojo", grew up on Cape Cod and put herself through college, graduating from Vermont College of Norwich University in 2000. She later educated and inspired youth as a STEM teacher in the Chatham and Nauset schools. In 2006 she earned a Master of Education from Cambridge College.
Joanne had many talents and interests, including arts and crafts, singing in her church choir, and baking her famous holiday cookies. From her practice of yoga to her adventures kayaking and hiking along the rivers of New Hampshire, she embraced all life had to offer.
Joanne's wishes are to be remembered alongside her mother's name on their memorial bench at Millway Beach in Barnstable village.
Predeceased by her parents Denise (St Pierre) Harrington and Daniel Harrington, Joanne is survived by her partner Geno and sisters Maureen, Eileen and her partner Glenn, Kathleen, Colleen and brother-in-law Craig, along with her nephew and nieces, Brian, Kimberly, Stephanie, and Cora, and grandnephews and grandniece, Bryson, Garrett, Sierra, and Parker.
