Albert J. Bouchard, Jr, 79, died at home unexpectedly on January 29th.
Al was born and raised in Plymouth, MA, and lived his whole life “on the hill.” After graduating from Plymouth-Carver High School he went on to complete coursework as a Missiles Facilities Specialist at the Sheppard Air Force Base near Wichita Falls, Texas in 1962. Following, Al was stationed at Walker Air Force Base in Roswell, New Mexico and served in the United States Air Force from 1962 – 1965. During his service, he received various commendations including the Air Force Good Conduct Medal.
After the Air Force, Al returned to Massachusetts where he worked at the Quincy Shipyard for seven years before transitioning into a long-term career in restaurant management for Papa Gino’s. Eventually, he retired from Papa Gino’s. Al was always a hard worker and succeeded in everything he did.
Al loved nature and gardening and was a big animal lover. He was a lifelong learner and a very patient teacher. He was an adoring husband, father, grandfather, neighbor and friend who never failed to make sure those in his life always felt the true depth of his love for them.
Al is survived by his wife Olivia of 27 years, his daughter Alisha Bouchard and her wife Beth Fleischer of Westwood MA, his daughter Lana Jones and her husband James Jones of Plymouth MA, his son Shawn Mayberry and his wife Denise Mayberry of Plymouth, MA, his stepson Joseph Hurvitz of Pembroke, MA, his stepson Jason Hurvitz and his wife Tori Hurvitz of Foxboro, MA, his granddaughter Chandler Amaral and her husband Marc Amaral of Barnstable, MA, his granddaughter Brittany Jerome of Plymouth, MA, his granddaughter Lorilee Mayberry of Lowell, MA, his granddaughter Ali Bouchard Fleischer of Westwood, MA his granddaughter Brooke Mayberry of Plymouth MA, and his grandson Brady Hurvitz of Plymouth, MA along with many lifelong friends and family.
Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. A memorial service will be held to honor Al on Saturday, February 5 at 8:30 AM at the funeral home, followed by a Mass at St. Peter’s Church, 86 Court Street. Interment at Vine Hills Cemetery in Plymouth, MA. will immediately follow.
