Obituary for Aysen Beznosiuk (Isin)

Aysen (Isin) Beznosiuk, age 84, of Duxbury, Massachusetts, passed away April 4th, 2022. Aysen was born in Turkey in June, 1937. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Physics from Ankara University shortly before marrying her first husband, Acar Isin. The couple lived in Charlottesville, Virginia for seven years. Upon returning to Turkey, Aysen started working at the Ankara Nuclear Research and Training Center in 1968. This job gave her the opportunity to travel and attend Radiation Protection training workshops in Iran, Russia, Luxembourg, and Austria. Later, she enjoyed her position as the Manager of the Training and Publication division of the Turkish Atomic Energy Commission, overseeing foreign scholarships and the publication of technical articles. She retired in 1984, when she moved to London, England with her second husband, Petro Beznosiuk. Aysen and Petro enjoyed traveling, and had the opportunity to live for a few years in Italy and Germany. After Petro's death, she moved to the U.S. in 2015.
Aysen's favorite hobby was sewing, and she produced professional quality clothing. She was an avid reader and a creative cook. Aysen loved all kinds of electronic gadgets, and closely followed the latest technological advances. She liked reminiscing about her past adventures, and frequently made people laugh with her colorful narrative. She is survived by her daughter Sibel Karchner, son-in-law Ayres Randall Sequeira, grandson Erol Karchner; step-children Lisa, Marko, Pavlo, and Anton Beznosiuk; step grandchildren Eric Karchner, Luba Tunnicliffe, and Joseph and Lucy Beznosiuk. A celebration of Aysen’s life will be held at a later date.
