Barbara peacefully passed on January 10, 2020 at her home in Dennis, Massachusetts surrounded by her loving family. She is the daughter of Edna Elizabeth Sherburne and Donald A Berrio. She was born at Cape Cod Hospital. Her mother unfortunately passed while Barbara was a teenager. She was educated at Mount Saint Joseph’s Academy for Girls in Brighton, Massachusetts.

Barbara started her 22 year career with New England Telephone as an operator, and later in management at AT&T, where she met the love of her life, Ralph Bertozzi. She served as a volunteer with the New England Telephone Pioneers doing charitable work. She worked for 22 years at Ladybug Knitting in Dennis, knitting and making lots of great friends and memories.

Barbara and Ralph relocated to Dennis on Cape Cod in 1987. Together, they enjoyed countless hours of fishing, lobstering, boating, and enjoying year-round cape life. She was a lifelong knitter. She enjoyed many creative crafting activities including: rug hooking, quilting, and Nantucket lightship basketry. Barbara also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 33 years Ralph Raymond Bertozzi of Dennis, her brother Donald Berrio of Stewart Florida, her daughter Elizabeth Ann and husband Christopher Sean Connors of Duxbury, granddaughters Angela Lorraine Margaret and Catherine Aileen, her son James Donald Spinale of Las Vegas, her daughter Marian Teresa and husband Christopher Patrick Cully, and grandchildren Hannah Rose and Noah James of Plymouth.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her memory to these important organizations:
