Bonnie "Demi" Jean Piekarski 75, of Carver formerly of Hingham, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Bonnie was born on November 8, 1947, in Renton, Washington, to Joyce and Robert Nelson. She is predeceased by her sister Connie and survived by her two brothers Tom (Colleen) Nelson (Washington) and Mike (Tina) Nelson (Virginia).
Bonnie and her husband Greg were married for 55 years. They are survived by their children Tanya (Dave) Donahue of Marshfield, Nikki (Marc) Kelley of Marshfield, Sue (Pat) Cray of Whitman and Gregg (Jenny) Piekarski of Plymouth. She is Demi to her 9 grandchildren – Maggie and Claire Donahue, Brady, Megan, Sarah and Grace Kelley, Presley and Allison Cray and Bella Piekarski. Aunt to Sydney Nelson (Washington) and Crystal Nelson (Virginia).
Bonnie was known as the life of every party. She especially loved their 4th of July parties in the backyard of their Hingham home. She always made sure we invited everyone we knew. She would make her rounds and catch up with everyone. She loved having everyone in one place. She had a green thumb and loved working in her gardens. Bonnie loved camping with family, doing puzzles and singing Golden Oldies into any utensil she could find. She taught her grandkids (and anyone who wanted to learn) how to dive. Most of the time she was so excited she dove right in wearing her t-shirt and shorts while demonstrating (which always made us laugh)! She had a quick wit that has been passed down to her children and grandchildren. Bonnie was famous for her pranks and her love of tabloid news and reality TV. She loved talking about the latest headlines with her granddaughters and had a special place in her heart for her only grandson Brady. She would listen so intently to all the grandkid's stories about their sports teams or the latest audition and give a "Demi clap" throughout. Her heart was bursting with pride for each of her grandchildren and had a special relationship with each one.
Bonnie will be buried with her husband Greg at the National Cemetery on Friday March 31st. A “Celebration of Life” will be held on Friday, March 31st, 2023 from 3-7 p.m. at The Marshfield Elks, 1321 Ocean Street, Marshfield. All are invited to come and share fond memories and stories.
