Obituary for Carol Garvey

Carol Louise (Alexander) Garvey, 90 of Plymouth, Massachusetts, passed away on
January 4, 2023, at Wingate Skilled Nursing Facility, surrounded by family.

Carol was born in Plymouth, Massachusetts on December 25, 1932, where she was
raised by her parents Inez & Marston Alexander, and attended Plymouth Schools.
Carol worked in Plymouth for many years before beginning an antiques business,
“Garvey’s Place” with her husband Clive, which they ran for 20 plus years. Carol
enjoyed reading, studying antiques, Sudoku, and the Boston Red Sox.

Carol and her husband Clive retired in 1991, to their home in Dunedin, Florida. While in
Florida they traveled extensively. In 2010 they returned to Plymouth to be with their
family.

Carol is survived by her daughters, Claudia M. Detrani and Katherine L. Rebell, son-in-
laws Nicholas Detrani and Steven Rebell. Grandchildren: Elizabeth LaCivita, Jason,
Benjamin and Jesie Rebell, Great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Meredith, Penelope, Chace
and William. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Clive W. Garvey, son Clive W. Garvey, Jr.
and daughter Karen L. Garvey, as well as her sisters Eleanor, Elizabeth, Mary,
Katherine and brother Marston (Sonny).

Funeral arrangements will be under the care of Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street,
Plymouth. Visitation will be held on Tuesday January 10, 2023 from 5:00pm-7:00pm.

Burial will be Private, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
