Obituary for David Andrews

David Andrews, 54, died on June 24 at his home in Teaticket, MA after a short battle with
cancer.

Dave was born in Scranton, PA, graduated from North Pocono High School in 1985, Albright
College, Reading, PA in 1989, and he earned a Master’s degree at Naval Postgraduate School,
Monterey, CA in 1995. Dave had an acclaimed and accomplished career of 30 years in the US
Navy and as a government contractor in Northern Virginia, where he made his home with wife
Wendy for more than twenty years prior to his recent retirement to Cape Cod in 2019. He
worked at the companies of Lockheed Martin and Perspecta where his profound impact and
influence on those he worked with will be felt for years to come in the field of systems
engineering, satellite communications, space systems operations, and program management.

Dave enjoyed many diverse and varied hobbies and interests, including science fiction,
astronomy, photography, vegan baking, beer brewing, CrossFit training, running, biking, electric
guitar, gardening, long walks in the park with his dogs, and most recently in retirement,
kayaking. He was an adoring husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend who never failed to make
sure those in his life always felt the true depth of his love for them. Dave was also a very
devoted and loving dad to his dogs Harry, Millie, and Emma.

Dave is survived by his wife Wendy of 31 years, his mother Lorraine Padavan of Pensacola, FL,
father Daniel and stepmother Carol of Wimauma, FL, brothers Daniel of Pensacola, FL, Joseph
and Steven of Ocean City, MD, half-brother Michael of Hanover Township, PA, and stepsisters,
Kelly Fox of Berlin, MD, Christine Egan of Newtown Square, PA, and Terri Miller of Rosedale,
MD. He is survived by nieces Tabitha, Kailey, Malery, Madison, Sarah, Alexandra, and Peyton,
and nephews Preston, AJ, Bobby, Steven, and Hunter, also aunt Dorothy Andrzejewski of
Springbrook Twp, PA, uncle Carl Pacholec of Taylor, PA, and aunt Leona Kulesa of Scranton, PA,
along with many cousins.

A memorial service will be held to honor Dave on Friday, July 9 at 1:00 pm at St. Ann’s
Monastery and Shrine Basilica in Scranton, PA.
