Obituary for my father David Anthony Swanson 02/06/1938 - 02/02/2021
David A. Swanson 82, a resident of Saugus, MA., passed away peacefully Tuesday February 2nd at the home of his beloved girlfriend Karen Waterman. Karen blessed us all by caring for Dad in his time of need. She brought a smile to his face until his last day. For that we are forever grateful. He is survived by three sons; David A. Swanson Jr. of Lynn, Stephen P. Swanson of Wakefield, James A. Swanson of Lynn and his two daughters; Susan M. Meagher of Manchester, NH and her husband Paul and Marie A. Parent of Hollis, ME and her husband Eric. He also leaves behind a brother Richard Swanson, a sister-in-law Ruth Swanson and his sister Gerri Poulin. Beloved by the entire Beal Family, Susan (Beal) Lichwala, Edward and James Beal and their children. We are extremely thankful for all the help Susan Lichwala has given our family during our father's time of need.
He had a large extended family with many nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Way too many to list! He loved them all dearly and they loved him.
He was predeceased by his wife Marie A. (Bugden) Swanson of Lynn, his parents Ralph Swanson of Worcester and Elizabeth (Tully) Swanson of Lynn, as well as four brothers and four sisters.
He was an avid sports fan. Was a bit of a sore loser (it's a Swanson thing) and known to pre-record games in case his team lost!!! He was an extremely hard working man without a lazy bone in his body. When he allowed himself a little free time he enjoyed being with family, loved playing tennis, softball and playing board games/Pictionary. (With a cold beer of course!) He was dearly loved by many and will be greatly missed! Due to pandemic restrictions a Celebration of Life and Internment Service will be announced at a future date.
