Obituary for Dr. Harry Kavoogian (Kavoogian) Jr.

Dr. Harry Kavoogian, Jr. passed away February 25, 2021, just one month shy of his
95th birthday, with his family by his side.

He was a graduate of Boston University and Tufts University School of Dental
Medicine. He completed his oral surgery residency at the former Worcester City
Hospital and served as the oral surgeon at Fort Stewart, Georgia. Upon discharge
from the army he returned to Worcester, MA to practice dentistry/oral surgery for
42 years.

Upon retirement he and Barbara, his wife of 59 years retired to their Cape Cod
residence in Brewster, MA. They were active members of the Dennis Yacht Club and
of the Captains Golf Course.

Harry, affectionately known to his family as “Puppy,” took immense pride in his yard
and landscaping. To him, his yard was a showpiece. Neighbors would often stop by
to compliment his perfectly groomed lawn and the colorful flowerbeds encircling
each and every walkway and entrance.

His home was his favorite place to be. It was a place of great memories, from visits
with his grandchildren over the years to the many parties he graciously hosted on
his back deck for friends and family alike.

Most importantly, Puppy’s love for his family was never ending. He taught us all
what it means to be a family and how sacred this is. His unconditional love will
continue to shine through the family he was so proud to raise.

He is survived by his wife Barbara and their three children, Brian and wife Susan,
Andrea Shamgochian and husband Robert and Charles and wife Brooke. He remains
the loving grandfather of his seven grandchildren and is also survived by sister
Dorothy Durkin.

Arrangements will be private. Contributions in his memory can be
made to the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.
