Obituary for Edmund R "Fish" Furtado

Edmund Richard Furtado, ("Fish") of Carver, MA, passed away August 14, 2021. He was born January 12, 1931, in Plymouth to the late Evaristo and Isabelle (Vaz) Furtado.

Edmund graduated from Plymouth High School, Class of 1949 and worked for L.Knife and Son for 35 years. He also served in the National Guard Reserves.

He was predeceased by his wife Arlene (Motta), his daughter Lynn Furtado, and his brother, Joseph Furtado.

He is survived by his son Richard E. Furtado, of Plymouth, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, as well as watching all the New England Sports. Ed enjoyed his hunting trips to Nantucket Island, Pennsylvania & Maine deer hunting, as well as pheasant & quail hunting in Myles Standish State Forest, with his dogs. Ed loved his fishing trips with his son and friends to Lake Ontario New York, to fish for trout and salmon. He was proud of his vegetable garden every year and loved sharing with family and friends. He was a member of the Young Americans Club, as well as a lifelong member of the Holy Ghost Society. His hunting dogs were his loyal best friends throughout the years.

Arrangements are under the care of Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth MA 02360. Visitation will take place at the Funeral Home on Friday August 20, 2021 from 5pm-7pm.
