Ellie passed away peacefully on March 23, 2023 8:21 pm at Wingate at Silver Lake where she resided for just under 2 years.
Ellie led a full life after graduating from Brockton High School in 1955.
Ellie, along with her husband, William "Billy" Haskell, shared ownership of many homes and properties throughout the years, to include Bill's Bungalow, Studio Groceries on Hampton Beach, NH, where they also owned Studio Laundry. Ellie and Billy finally settled in Epping, NH where they had a farm with many animals and raised English Bulldogs. After Bill's passing, Ellie continued to own and operate Studio Variety with the help of friends and family until she sold in 2013 to return to her family in Massachusetts.

Ellie adored her family and friends, delighted in playing her guitar and singing many songs learned from Grandpa Burnie. In her younger years, Ellie spent weekends at Grandma and Grandpa Burnie's camp in Plymouth. Curt and Ginny and the kids would come up from Cedarville to join in. Ellie and her sister Rosie loved to fish in the nearby pond and spent lots of time doing so with their brother Ben's sons. In later years, Ellie enjoyed playing cards with her friends into the night on the weekends. She loved going on Sunday drives and seeing live bands play.
At 86, Ellie was predeceased by all elder members of her Burnie family: Virginia, Betty, Ben, Rosie and Evie as well as her husband Billy, brother in law Ray True, nephew Jack and nieces Ginger and Graceann
She is survived by many nieces and nephews along with their offspring: Richard Swift and family, the family of Ginger Jason, Michael Swift and family, Curtis Swift and family, the family of Graceann Case, Richard Burnie and family, Jean Murphy and family, David Burnie and family, the family of Jackie Burnie and Kathy Calder and family. Ellie is survived as well by her brother in law Charlie and sister in law Sylvia, niece and godchild Holly Haskell and her daughters, Joane and Tia, also Ellie's godchildren, and dear friends Kathleen Dzialo, Andy Wiley, Kate Abels, and Barb Trongone.

Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 13th from 5-7 pm. Burial will be private.
