Buckley, Gerald F, 70, of Plymouth, passed away on Friday, May 7 after battling Covid-19. The devoted husband and loving father was the son of the late Barbara (Garland) Gillespie and Joseph Buckley.
Born in Brockton, Gerry grew up in Stoughton and graduated from Stoughton High School in 1969, where he also played football. Gerry went on to receive degrees from Northeastern University and Lesley University. He worked for over 30 years as a laboratory technician at South Shore Hospital, where he eventually met his wife. He was also an event disc jockey for many years, sharing his passion for music with others. Gerry, a sports enthusiast, also coached his daughter's local basketball team in his spare time.
Gerry's wide array of interests included animals, history, gardening, the paranormal, and the New England Patriots. He also loved photography, bird watching, Town Spa pizza, and cake. Gerry was the proud owner of two cats, Misty and Milo.
Gerry is survived by his wife of 44 years, Doris (Burgess). He also leaves behind his daughter, Erin, and her husband, David Elsner III of Plymouth. He is survived by his brothers; Thomas, and his wife Ellen Buckley, of Westbrook, ME and James Buckley of Clearwater, FL. He leaves behind many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as his favorite uncle, James Garland of Bridgewater.
Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. Services will be private.
