Gregory Jean Houde of Hyannis Massachusetts passed away unexpectedly on Monday evening, February 6, 2023, from heart failure. He was only 68 years old. His family was both shocked and devastated by his sudden death. Greg was born on Saturday, August 28, 1954, to Gloria and Jean Houde in Marthas Vineyard, Massachusetts, and is survived by his two sons Damian and Gregory, and his wife Sarah.

Greg graduated from Brockton High school in Brockton, MA in 1972. After graduation, he entered the trades to become an HVACR mechanic. Over the course of his life, he applied his trade in both commercial and residential industries, ultimately settling down in Cape Cod to establish a successful independent business, Houde Mechanical.

Greg was a warm and caring man who never looked for praise. He was a firm foundation and was always there for his friends and family. His work ethic was extraordinary, and he had no interest in retiring. In many ways, he died on his own terms; waking early to put in a full day’s work before going to bed. Through the years, Greg developed a deep passion for fishing and when not at work, he would often be on his boat wandering Cape Cod Bay in search of striped bass. An activity he also loved to share with his family and friends. He was a friend of Bill W for 18 years.

Greg will be missed by family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
