Obituary for Jacquelyn Florence McLellan (Allen)

Jacquelyn “Jacquie” F. McLellan was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, friend, companion, listener, advisor, volunteer, gatherer, Christian, caregiver and a nurturer. She left this world on March 8th after a courageous battle with gallbladder cancer. Her laugh, bright smile, and fighting spirit will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Jacquie was one of 13 siblings, all who preceded her in death. She attended Northeastern and Wentworth to study for advanced studies. She worked for the Wellesley school system as a special needs teacher and later worked in marketing sales for the Federal and State government for over 24 years. Always a worker bee, upon retirement she joined several organizations as a volunteer, including the Duxbury Senior Center and the Duxbury Thrift shop. She was an active member of the First Parish Church Ministry Group involved with the Flower Arrangements and Holiday Decoration Committees.

Jacquie was married to the love of her life, James A. McLellan, for over 55 years who preceded her in death. She is survived by their five children and spouses: Denise Scannell, Darlene & Gerard McCarthy, Kim-Marie McLellan, Kirstin & Mark Boothman, and Jamie McLellan; grandchildren: Corinne Valor, Lauren Guertin, Meghan McCarthy, Mikaela McLellan Saccoccio, Torin Saccoccio and Callum Boothman plus six great grandchildren: Logan, Zoey & Declan Valor, Emerson McCarthy, Kaylee and Shea Guertin. She loved her family deeply.

Her family grieves her loss, but they take comfort knowing that Jim and Jacquie are together again.

Her family invite the community to join them in a Celebration of Life Ceremony. The service will be Monday, May 2 at 11 am at First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church on 842 Tremont Street in Duxbury. Her ashes will be scattered at a future date.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to http://www.cancerresearch.org or https://www.dana-farber.org/ or the First Parish Church of Duxbury https://uudux.org/give/.
