Obituary for Jean Veronica Ravinski (Pacheco)

Ravinski, Jean V, 77, of Plymouth, passed away on Sunday August 1st at her home. She was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Veronica (Roklan) and Manuel F Pacheco.
Jean grew up in Needham across the street from her favorite “Cricket Field” where she spent her youth playing with her lifelong friend Deneen and visiting Norumbega Park with her family. She graduated from Needham High School in 1962. She attended the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, majoring in ceramics. She met her husband Paul, the next year at local favorite, James H McManus Ice Cream Shop and they married in 1968.
Jean and her parents went into business together at Colonial Saw Company in 1966. Shortly thereafter, the family and business moved to Kingston and Paul came aboard. Jean and Paul bred and showed Afghan Hounds as AKC registered Lifestyle Kennels for several years and made many lifelong friends. She loved art. She created ceramics, watercolor, acrylics and digital art, for which she was well known. She participated in numerous art shows in the area. She was the vice president of the Plymouth Garden club, where she was able to compete in Art in Bloom at the MFA. She had a large online presence, first starting with CompuServe and eventually Facebook, where she organized and ran several groups. She was a friend of Bill W and has been for over 31 years.
She loved Science Fiction and space, attending many conventions and even watching a NASA launch at Cape Canaveral. She was also able to witness countless launches of rockets and satellites from her balcony in Jupiter Florida. She loved gaming online and more recently watching her grandson play competitively.
She was an avid Patriots fan. She and Paul were a true Foodie couple and loved dining out at all kinds of restaurants wherever they were. She loved traveling by train to Florida and stopping in DC during the Cherry Blossom Festival. She loved visiting Disney World with her daughter’s family as well as on her own with Paul.
Jean is survived by her husband of over 52 years, Paul. She leaves behind her daughter, Kim and her husband David of Duxbury. She was the beloved Grammy of Veronica (Niki), Ryan and Kyle, whom she loved to instill her love art and culture during their many “glamping” vacations. She also leaves behind her sisters Barbara Bluhm of High Springs, FL and Susan Pacheco of Edgartown, MA. She also leaves many cousins, nieces and nephews a well as numerous friends both in person and in cyberspace.
