Obituary for Jeremiah J O'Sullivan

Jeremiah John O’Sullivan, age 90, passed away peacefully in his home on The Cape (Cape Cod, MA) on December 27th 2022 surrounded with much love by his family. Jerry was a distinguished double Eagle as he graduated Boston College H.S. in 1949 and Boston College in 1953 majoring in Mathematics. He had a rewarding and honored lifelong career as an Engineer for the great engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney. After retiring he consulted for NASA on special projects and authored training manuals which he also taught.  

Jerry was born on groundhog day, Feb 2nd. His humble childhood was a happy one in Hyde Park , MA. Jerry was always a hard worker, his first job was at Fenway Park, where he fibbed his age to start working. After college, he moved to CT with friends and stayed to raise his family in South Windsor CT. Here Jerry served on the local Wetlands and Conservation committees bettering his community. Jerry and his family bred, trained and showed Golden Retrievers and even has a hall of famer Cinnamon. In 1967, Jerry bought a family vacation home on The Cape, which was his favorite place to be. After retirement He and Janice became snowbirds and had 26 winters in Bradenton FL and continued to summer at The Cape.  

Jerry is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janice, their 3 children - Jane(Brian) O’Sullivan, Susan(Scott) Susko and Jerry(Christine) O’Sullivan. Jerry has 4 Grandchildren- Amanda, Kailee, Kevin and Alexa, 2 great grandchildren- Madison and Zoey, current granddogs- Summer, Shelby, Sugar and DaisyMae. He is also survived by 2 sisters, Alice McGill and Patricia(Sam) Lehane and lots ‘o nieces and nephews who loved Uncle Jerry. Jerry is predeceased by his parents Jeremiah and Anna O’Sullivan as well as his sister Julia Kenney and brother-in-law Joseph McGill. 

 In the coming weeks the family will hold a private memorial service to celebrate a life well lived by a terrific man who walked a righteous path. In Leu of flowers please feel free to donate to St Jude’s and/or the Visiting Nurse Association of Hyannis MA in honor of Jerry.
