Obituary for Johanna Barbara Morse (Witt)

Johanna “Joni” Morse (Witt)- Passed away peacefully at home September 6, 2020, after a brief illness.
Joni was born April 6, 1960 in Middleboro, MA, and graduated from Barnstable High School in 1978. She
went on to earn degrees in Cost Accounting and in Management and later Paralegal certification from
Cape Cod Community College.

She was an avid Red Sox fan and a devout follower of The New England Patriots. She worked during the
day as a paralegal at Mackey & Foster, P.A. and in the evenings she could often be found in her garden
with a cold Budweiser. She loved summer and every year lamented about Labor Day feeling like “the
day after Christmas”. She hated it almost as much as she did the Yankees.

Joni leaves her husband, Tom Morse of Sandwich, and her children: Tom Morse and his wife Sarah of
West Yarmouth, Samantha Burke and her husband Joe of West Bridgewater, and Jeffrey Morse and his
partner Sarah May of Putney, Vermont. She was the devoted “Gamma” to Lili Marion, TJ Morse, and
Olivia Morse of West Yarmouth and Elsie Burke of West Bridgewater. She also leaves Juneau, her Husky,
nine brothers and sisters and a number of nieces and nephews. She will be missed by many others
including her colleagues, friends, and fellow patrons of The Foxhole, especially during football season.
Due to COVID restrictions, family will host a celebration of her life on her birthday, April 6, 2021. Until
then, tip a glass in her honor and live each day like its 3-28.

The family would like to thank VNA of Cape Cod Hospice of for their kindness, care, and compassion
during her final days, and request that if you would like to make a donation in her memory, please
consider VNA Hospice via the Cape Cod Healthcare Foundation.
