Obituary for John W Gravelle Jr.

Gravelle, John W, Jr. (Jack) aged 85, of Plymouth passed away on Saturday December 12, 2020 at BIDMC, Boston with his wife by his side.
Jack was the son of the late Annette (McGuire) and John W. Gravelle. He grew up in Chelmsford, MA, graduating from Chelmsford High, Class of 1953. After high school he started a lifelong career in the trucking industry, at one time owning his own trucks. He moved to the south shore, there to work for a couple of companies; Duane Building Wreckers and Marshfield Sand and Gravel, before working for Dunlap Oil Co where, after 20+ years, he ended his career.
Jack is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty (Cox). He is also survived by his children Debora Brodeur (Normand) of Ayer, MA, Linda Tevepaugh (John) of Hudson, NH, and John W Gravelle, of Lowell, MA. He is also the loving Grampy to Megan Engdahl, of AZ, Lindsay Foley, of MA, John Gravelle, of NC, and 4 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sister Jo-ann Bonczar of NH and his brother Jim Gravelle of OH. He was preceded in death by his sister, Judy and his brother, Joe.
Jack loved being near the water, boating and fishing; either at Plymouth, at their cottage in Maine or vacationing in FL. He also enjoyed hunting.
Jack was Past Exalted Ruler of the Plymouth Elks, a member of the Plymouth Masonic Lodge and the Aleppo Shriners. He was also a life member of the Cold Springs Club and the Plymouth Rod and Gun Club.
Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. Services will be private. A celebration of life will be held in the Spring.
