Obituary for Leonora Jean Mello

Leonora “Lee” Mello, 88, of Plymouth, passed away at home, surrounded by her family. She was born in Plymouth, the daughter of the late Rosalina (Sousa) and Ceasar Silva.
Lee attended Plymouth Schools, graduating from Plymouth High Class of 1950. She worked for many years at Gambini’s in Plymouth and as a café worker in the Plymouth School Systems.
Lee enjoyed reading, knitting, counted cross stitching and playing cards and board games. She was a big Red Sox fan and she loved spending time with her friends and family.
In April of 1951, she married her love, Edward J. Mello, they were married for 40 years, before he passed away in 1991. They had 3 children; Edward R Mello and his wife Gail of Otisfield, ME, David A Mello and his wife Cheryl of Plymouth, MA and the late Robert S. Mello. She is survived by 4 grandchildren; Patricia Mello Barrett, Lisa Mello, Laura Mello Robinson and Stephen Mello; as well as 5 great grandchildren. Lee was preceded in death by her sister; Flossie Silva.
Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. A funeral mass will be held at a later date as well as a celebration of Lee’s life, when the world heals.
