Obituary for Linda Joyce Hios (Knudson)

Linda Hios (Knudson), 75, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022, in Plymouth,
Massachusetts surrounded by her family. Linda was such a light in this sometimes-dark world,
and she will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. She touched the lives
of so many people across multiple generations. During her time with us, she made a point to
always help anyone with whatever she could, never second-guessing her decision. Anyone who
knows Linda, knows that her family meant everything to her and in her eyes, each of you reading
this was family or you wouldn't be reading this. For us, she really is that pebble thrown into a
lake as the lives she touched act as ripples that extend far beyond just us.

Linda leaves behind her loving family that she was very proud of. Linda was world-renowned for
her lack of patience, not holding back her opinion and a knack for telling it like it is. She always
told you the truth even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear. It was the school of hard knocks
and yes, we were told many times how she had to walk for miles in a blizzard to get to school, so
suck it up. With that said she was genuine to a fault, a pussy cat at heart (or lion) and yet she
sugar-coated nothing. Her extensive vocabulary was more than highly proficient at knowing
more curse words than most people learned in a lifetime. Linda carried around her playlist on
paper to load up a jukebox or give to a DJ at an event. I imagine she right now is overplaying
Low by Flo Rida and Fireball by Pitbull.

She was a master cook in the kitchen and if you were lucky enough to be one of her people, then
you felt the true effects of her. She cooked endless amounts of meatballs and pastitsio for you.
She brought you gifts from her travels with my dad because she thought of you while she was
there. You have numerous voice messages from every birthday with a birthday song on it from
her and my dad. You felt truly loved no matter what mistakes you had made. She simply made it
her job to take care of everyone. She protected her people and did whatever she could to make
you feel safe and loved even to the very end.

My parents were married for 55 years. The love that they had was impenetrable. They were each
other’s missing half. There are no words to explain how big of a void her loss has left for
him. The suddenness of her loss has devastated us, she was the best of the best Wife, Mom,
Mimi, Sister, Daughter, Aunt and Friend.

She will be sorely missed and survived by her loving and devoted husband Michael Hios, her
children Michael Hios, II and his wife Sheila Field, Deborah Rodrigues and her husband Jorge
Rodrigues, Tara Picardy and her husband David Picardy, and Jamie Hios; her grandchildren
Tamera Powers and husband Mark Powers, Cody Picardy, Mackenzie Picardy, Cassia Picardy,
Michael Hios and Vicente Rodrigues and her Great-grandchild Luke Powers. She will also be
missed by her siblings Cindy Tobin, Carl Knudson, Michael Knudson and Randy Knudson and
numerous nephews and nieces and a multitude of friends. She is predeceased by her parents Carl
and Evelyn Knudson and her siblings Darrell, Helen and Deborah.
