Obituary for Lindsey Ann Navin

Born March 10, 1985 on Cape Cod to her adoring parents Laurie & George Navin
Our little “Peanut” passed away on March 2 nd at home so peacefully wrapped in
our loving arms.

Lindsey was, and is, an inspiration to us and everybody who has been fortunate
enough to know her and be part of her life. Lindsey’s spirit, energy, and love were
ever present throughout her life. Lindsey taught us the meaning of absolute love,
and showed us how to live beyond expectations and limitations, and to always be
willing to learn, for she opened our eyes to new experiences and emotions every
day of her all too short life….and her smiles were infectious!

Lindsey was 36-years-young when she made her transition.

When Lindsey turned 18, we threw her a big birthday bash with relatives and
friends alike. It was a wonderful event, and we know she enjoyed it immensely.
Aside from 18-years being a big day for any teenager, that day also
commemorated her perseverance, fortitude, and lust for life as she was not
medically expected to outlive her early teens.

Lindsey was just getting started….

As her parents, we held her 18th birthday party, and in return she gave us the
present of another 18-years of life to experience with her and to love her. Her
unconditional love and ever-present mischievous smiles and cooing filled the
years even on darker days. Her trips to the mall “on girls’ day” always resulted in
fun stories and snazzy clothes and accessories. Lindsey also loved to go to the
movies where sometimes she would challenge the Dolby sound system with her
own vocals, with stunning effect! She loved high school plays and attended a
multitude of concerts at the Hyannis Melody Tent. Lindsey enjoyed Judy Collins,
Carole King and Arlo Guthrie, the B-52s, Indigo Girls, Cyndi Lauper, the Go-Go
Girls, and the second time we saw Peter, Paul, and Mary, they invited her
backstage for her own intimate audience of “Puff the Magic Dragon”. It was truly
a memorable experience. Lindsey also did a fair amount of traveling in our
camper. Adventures from the White Mountains to Fort DeSoto Florida, she
enjoyed the road. She also enjoyed road races. Lindsey was Laurie’s number one
cheerleader for many races including the Falmouth Road Race and Jingle Jog.
There was never a dull moment when Lindsey was involved.

Laurie and I have been so blessed having Lindsey as our daughter. She showed us
that it wasn’t about what she didn’t have or couldn’t do, but how much she
enjoyed what life did have to offer her. In our thoughts, Lindsey got her wings too
early. But her light, her energy, and her indomitable spirit are free and soaring
limitlessly through the heavens welcomed by our loved ones who now embrace
her as she’s transitions into this new existence. We miss you every moment of
every day Peanut, but we know you’re always near.

Lindsey was and is blessed to have the boundless love and care from you all. It
would take too long to name everybody, but if Lindsey touched your heart, you
touched hers as well. Laurie and I, and Peanut, love you all, and thank you for
your care, concern, support, and love.
