Obituary for Marilyn Ruth Harris

Harris, Marilyn R (Lewis) of Plymouth, MA, formerly of Braintree, MA and Ft. Myers, FL, passed away peacefully on July 26th at the age of 87.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Charles, her parents Bradford and Mildred Lewis, and her 3 sisters Marjorie Griffin, Barbara Reynolds, and Nancy Latimer. Loving mother of Janet (Daniel) McBride of Pennsylvania, Nancy (Robert) Kaplan of Hingham, Judith (Alan) Mantey of Wisconsin, Kathy (Richard) Duddy of Plymouth, Donna (Jon) DeCoste of Plymouth, Susan DeCoste of Plymouth, and Stephen (Rhonda) Harris of North Attleboro. Further survived by her sister Sandra Ewing of Florida, 23 adored grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Marilyn had a kind and sweet nature and an infectious smile. She enjoyed great friendships everywhere she lived, and remained close over the years with her childhood girlfriends from Milton. Mal, as many called her, was an avid Red Sox fan, loved parties, golf, and most importantly her family. Her last few years were happily spent at Benchmark - Plymouth Crossings, where she was loved by all.

The family is having a private burial service and a “Celebration of Life” to be scheduled at a later date.

The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.
