Obituary for Mary Margaret Cosgrove
Mary Margaret (Vye) Cosgrove (76) was finally reunited with the love of her life on September 24, 2022. Her beloved husband of 50 years, Michael “Mikey” H. Cosgrove, died in 2017 and Mary spent the last six years looking forward to seeing him in heaven.
Mary died peacefully at The Village at Proprietors Green in Marshfield, with her daughter, Colleen, son-in-law Rick, and sister Jeanne, by her side.
Mary is survived by two children, Michael C. Cosgrove of Dorchester and Colleen Carlson (Cosgrove) and her husband Rick of Plymouth.
Mary is the beloved “Nan” to her cherished grandsons, Michael L. Wetterberg and his wife Amanda, and Patrick R. Wetterberg and his fiancé Tiffany O’Keefe, all of Plymouth.
Mary was blessed with a great-granddaughter, Aubrey, in 2021.
Mary was the third of six children. She leaves her brother Al Vye, of Portsmouth RI, her sister and best friend, Jeanne Marison of Peabody, MA and her youngest brother Gerry Vye, of North Andover, MA. Mary was predeceased by two brothers, John (Chickie) Vye of Arlington, MA and Charlie Vye of Dighton, MA.
Mary also left her brother-in-law Stephen and his wife Marybeth in addition to many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Mary worked hard for more than twenty-five years as a home health aide for the South Shore Hospital Visiting Nurses. She was proud to be a Eucharistic minister for St. Mary Parish in Plymouth in recent years. Mary was a devout Catholic who loved God very much.
The family would like to thank the staff at Village at Proprietors Green in Marshfield and Autumn Hospice of Norwell for their compassionate care during Mary’s stay at Proprietors Green and her friends, Mary Filippini, Doris Bassett, and Pat Sterling who spent time with Mary prior to her passing and made her feel very loved.
Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth, MA. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, September 27th from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be held at St Mary's Church, 313 Court Street on Wednesday, September 28th at 10:30 am. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a memorial donation be made to Autumn Hospice of Norwell, in her name.
