My deepest sympathy to Mary Ellen’s family.
I knew Mary Ellen for many years as a leader at Tobey Hospital where she ran a tight ship on Maternity. She was a leader with ideas and always looking to make improvements for her team to the best of her ability. She contributed much to the Tobey family during her time there. Mary Ellen has gone far too young, my prayers to all, may God bless and hold you in the time of loss.

Just seeing the news of Mary Ellen's passing. Ellen and David, the last time I saw Mary Ellen she was a little girl. Your three little girls with double names were precious. I know how close your family is and can't imagine how hard this must be for all of you. Know that I'm thinking of you and your family, praying God gives you the strength needed to get through these hardest days. So very sorry for your loss.

Mary Ellen was the most amazing sister and I can't even begin to put into words how much she means to me and my children. She was present for the birth of all 3 and it’s just one thing for which I’ll be grateful and hold in my heart. Mary Ellen will be missed in ways I can't even begin to grasp but I am thankful for everything we as families and as sisters were able to do. I will do my best to make awesome gravy at Thanksgiving and will continue to do the dishes after Christmas dinner.
Until we meet again. XO

It is with great sadness that we at the Institute for Perinatal Quality Improvement ( pay tribute to Mary Ellen Boisvert, MSN, RN, CLC, CCE, who died on August 28, 2019. Mary Ellen was a trusted and respected colleague who we will miss very much. She lived her life with excellence, kindness and a generosity of spirit that enriched and inspired anyone who had the privilege to spend time with her. Her wisdom, insights, and recommendations helped guide the formation of the Institute for Perinatal Quality Improvement.

Mary Ellen remained professionally active until the end of her life. The uncorrected proof of the manuscript she co-authored titled: Feasibility Study of AWHONN's Immediate and Continuous Skin-to-Skin Nursing Care Quality Measures was published by the Journal of Gynecologic, Obstetric, Neonatal Nursing in August 2019. Mary Ellen was also an expert in and a champion of the importance of perinatal quality improvement (QI). She led numerous local and national QI efforts that improved the care of women and newborns. Mary Ellen will be greatly missed by her perinatal colleagues and friends. The world is a better place because of Mary Ellen's life.
