Obituary for Michael Joseph Perrone Sr.

Michael J. Perrone, Sr., 90, passed away peacefully at home in Plymouth, MA. He was born to Rafaella (Rae) and Anthony Perrone in New Haven, Connecticut on September 29, 1933. Mike is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Joan (Martindale) Perrone. His three children Michele McCarthy (husband John) of Madison, CT. His son David Perrone (wife Eileen), of Bourne, MA and his son Michael Perrone, Jr. (wife Denise) of Plymouth, MA. Mike was the loving grandfather of seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. In addition, Mike is also survived by his two sisters Ann Marie Sola of North Haven, CT and Lydia Conte, of Melbourne, FL.

Mike served in the Army during the Korean war while stationed in Germany from 1953-1955.

Mike graduated from Central Connecticut University with a Bachelor's degree in Business. He went on to earn his Master's degree in Education Leadership from Fairfield University and continued his education by earning his Doctorate in Education (PHD.) degree from Saint John's University.

Mike enjoyed a career in public education that spanned more than 40 years. The final 20 years of his career, as Superintendent of Schools, he proudly led the districts of Lakeville-Freetown Regional Schools in MA, Brookfield Public Schools, in Brookfield, CT and Sherman Public Schools, in Sherman, CT.

Interment services will be private. Mike will be honored at a Celebration of Life in the Spring of 2024.
