Obituary for Patricia Ann McKenna (Minuti)
DENNIS - Pat McKenna left us peacefully on May 4 with her husband Gerry of 58 years at her side holding her hands in his as she peacefully passed away. Pat was born on June 19′” 1938 in Utica, NY to her late mother Maryellen Miller Moselle and her late father Frank Minuti of Santa Cruz CA. Pat had been ill for some time with Alzheimer’s disease. She is also survived by her son Daniel of Plymouth and son Michael in Sanbornville, NH, two daughters-in laws Kathaleen McKenna in Plymouth and Liz Skillings in Sanbornville, NH, three granddaughters, Danielle Edgington in Salem, NH, Joelle McKenna in Plymouth and Ashli Carnicelli in Durham,NC, two grandsons Cody McKenna in Sanbornville, NH and Kyle McKenna in Plymouth and three lovely great granddaughters: Adaline, Evvy, and Ishla Carnicelli in Durham, NC.
There are few people like Pat in our midst. She was always giving. She documented her life in a Kindle Amazon book entitled ‘I Want to Know’. Owing to her humility she did not praise herself for all the selfless activities and actions she performed as well as the peace and serenity she created in almost every psychic reading she gave to others around the globe. The workshops she created and facilitated were such that clients were able to lessen the burdens they carried since their childhood. These were clients that had grown up in dysfunctional homes.
She taught evenings at 4 C’s college in Hyannis for 19 years. Her style of teaching was not the norm as Pat was unique in all ways throughout her life. All members of her classes were able to get and give love, kindness and empathy as the bonds tightened and the artificial banners melted away. Was this a teaching process or a unique way to experience a non-traditional college teaching experience that was a mix of group therapy, a touch of ALAN ON and the 12 steps and the safest place that most students had ever experienced? It was not unusual for a student to show tears of happiness and love when she was discovered in a restaurant or other public place. She will be soulfully missed by those who were fortunate to have been with her and enjoyed the abundant gifts she willingly and unselfishly shared with us.
In all of the work that Pat did her initial plans were followed anywhere from 1% to 90% because the information she was receiving was far more valuable than anything she had planned. She never tried to explain this process but accepted that she was receiving information of great relevance and value. Her beliefs were a reflection of her Native American heritage. Those in her classes were more like close friends than classmates due to the type of power and love she radiated, whether she was with one person or a hundred people.
There will be a memorial service to celebrate Pat’s life to be held on Saturday June 1st at the Bartlett Funeral Home at 338 Court Street, Plymouth, MA 02360 from 1-4 pm.
