Obituary for Peter B Abraham

Peter B. Abraham, age 50, of Plymouth, Massachusetts lost a courageous battle against complications from long COVID on August 20, 2023.

Peter grew up in Plymouth attending Sacred Heart Schools in Kingston. He was a competitive ice skater and that very early career took him all over the world eventually to Houston, Texas directing a school and later to Kuala Lumpur building a skating program. In 1998, he happily returned to the hometown he loved to start the next chapter of his life. He received a bachelor’s degree from Curry College at the same time he was introduced to the event planning industry. As with everything he did, he was passionate about the events industry and served as Chapter Chair for IAEE New England for four years. For the past 10 years he’s been with Freeman in their sales department and was committed to serving his clients, many of whom he counted as friends.

Peter’s ability to form lasting relationships with all he met was what truly defined him. He loved meeting people, was interested in their stories, and found the world fascinating in its interconnectedness. All who met him felt his light and energy. His sense of humor, kindness, and loyalty were what drew so many to him and made his life incredibly full. Peter found beauty in nature and relished long walks with friends, days by the ocean, fine dining, and beautiful music.

Peter loved to travel and see the world, but his true happy place was the home he and his partner Michael built in Plymouth. Together they filled it with things they loved and hosted family and friends for beautiful occasions of laughter, good food and celebrations. Peter was part of the Pinehills community from the very beginning and treasured his neighbors and watching the community grow.

Peter leaves his devoted life partner of 22 years, Michael Mihalik, his loving parents Nancy and Bob and brother Paul, all of Plymouth and a wide circle of friends from all walks of his life. Peter brought light to the world and will be sorely missed by all he touched.

Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Friday, August 25 at Saint Peter’s Church, 86 Court Street. Plymouth. A celebration of life will be held in late September. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Peter’s name to the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Boston, where Peter received exceptional care these past two months. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Pushpa Narayanaswami who provided Peter with the additional gifts of hope and friendship.
