Obituary for Robert Michael "Butch" Bonney

Robert (Butch) M. Bonney of Plymouth, MA died suddenly on September 19 at the age of 67. The family is deeply saddened by his sudden death. He was born in Plymouth on March 27, 1955 to Robert C. Bonney and Majorie A. (Birnstein) Bonney. Butch attended Plymouth schools and after graduation went into a career as a painting contractor. As a contractor he traveled throughout the United States, returning to home base in Plymouth after his marriage. Butch continued to work in the painting business until he recent retirement.

Devoted husband and father Butch is survived by his wife Runya and his son Michael. He also leaves behind sisters Lynne Beaulieu and Elizabeth Doherty both of Plymouth, MA, nieces Megan and Katelyn Doherty, great nephew Lucas Davis and a great circle of friends, who he has known since high school.

Anyone who knew Butch knew he cherished the time he spent with his wife Runya and son Michael. He made their home in his grandparents house. Butch was an avid Celtics fan going to many games when it was the "dream team" of the Larry Bird era and even had a wooden seat from Boston Garden to commemorate his times spent there with friends watching the Celtics play.

Butch had a great love of music as to all who knew him can attest to. He especially loved classic rock and obscure tracks, but only vinyl would do. He would gladly play music for you if he could lure you to listen and see his huge collection. Butch was an avid gardener with a green thumb and also loved to cook.

Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, October 1st from 11am - 12 pm.
