best friend, Robert Magner, as well as the late Muriel Marchand and her deceased husband,
Leon. His son-in-law, Shihab Ahmed, also mourns the loss. He leaves behind many nieces and
nephews.

Bob served in the Coast Guard during peacetime and then worked as a chemical worker at ICI for many years. He found his calling in retirement when he worked as a parking clerk at
Bridgewater State University. As a man of books, he greatly enjoyed conversations with BSU
faculty, staff and students. His curiosity also fueled his leisure activities - he was a long-term
member of the Boston Museum of Science. In his later years Bob expressed his gratitude for
having lived a good life. Bob will be greatly missed and his love will live on in his family and
friends. Memorial donations may be made to MSPCA Animal Care and Adoption Center, 350
South Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02130.
