Obituary for Robert William "Moose" McClennan

McClennan, Robert William

Age 65, of Plymouth, MA passed away peacefully on October 11, 2022 after a brief, courageous battle with cancer.

Nicknamed “Moose” by his grade school buddies, the name followed him to high school while on the Weymouth High football team and as a shotput champ and it stuck throughout his whole life.

Moose was a gentle giant who had a great sense of humor. He loved country music and fishing and canoeing on his pond and most of all, he loved cooking for his friends and family. After graduating from Bunker Hill Community College in Boston for Culinary Arts, he worked as a chef in many restaurants on the South Shore and on the Cape. Then he found his home away from home as the head chef at Stafford Hill Assisted Living where the residents craved his homestyle cooking. He worked there for over 12 years.

Moose leaves his beloved wife of 36 years, Diane (Johnston) McClennan. He was the loving father of Jarod Dobson McClennan and his wife, Katelyn and Corey McClennan and his wife, Jamie. He also leaves the light of his life, his grandson, Coleton and his granddaughter, Teagen. Moose is predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Agnes McClennan and his brother, Larry. He leaves his sister, Michelle Gleason and her husband, Leo; his brother, Tom, and his sister, Jeannie Lacey and her husband, Thom. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 17th from 3-5 pm. Burial will be held at a later date.
