Obituary for Shirley Lorraine Brady

Shirley Brady, 90, died on February 13 at her home in Plymouth, MA after a lengthy battle with
dementia. She was a devoted partner, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother who never failed to make
sure those in her life always felt the true depth of her love for them. Shirley was also a very
loving dog' mom to many beloved pets over the years.

Shirley or 'Nana' as she liked to be called in later years was born in Needham, MA, graduating from
Needham High School. Shirley spent her childhood in Needham. MA and then later, Natick, MA,
However, her truly fondest memories were of summer's spent in Nova Scotia with her grandparents and
many aunts, uncles and cousins. She often returned there for vacation and delighted in introducing her
children and her granddaughter to the Cabot Trail, the seaside towns and the warm and loving relatives
who welcomed her on visits.

While she spent many years as a homemaker she also enjoyed working outside of the home and held
both volunteer and professional positions over the years--from health aide to thrift store owner to loan
underwriter. She also enjoyed varied hobbies and interests, including reading mysteries, playing cards,
walking, music (listening to and singing the 'oldies'), the beach and most of all, a good laugh at a funny
movie.

Shirley is survived by her son, John Heald of Harwich Port, MA, her daughter, Heather Heald of
Plymouth, MA, her granddaughter, Caroline also of Plymouth, MA and her niece, Melissa Welch of Natick,
MA, as well as cousins and family in Nova Scotia.

She was predeceased by her parents Carolyn and Howard Roberts and her sister Carole Roberts.
At her request, funeral services will be private, but her family will plan a memorial service for a later time.
