Obituary for Steven Paul Kotowski

Steven Paul Kotowski
Steven (Steve) Kotowski passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at
age 71 on April 9, 2021, following a brief illness at his home on Cape Cod. Steve was born to Stanley and Florence Kotowski of Cambridge Massachusetts and was one of seven children. He was an Army Veteran, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and had been a long time resident of Cape Cod.
Kindly, to all who knew him, Steve was generous and had a real zest for life with an uncanny ability to find the fun and humor in all that life had to offer. He could always be counted on to have a unique story to tell with an always unique, smile-inducing perspective. He was “a real character” and would offer to give you the shirt off his back . Steve is survived by his lifelong love and partner in life, Susan Marie Gargano of Dennisport. Steve is predeceased by his eldest sister, Virginia Pectol and survived by his sister Mary Ann Kotowski and four brothers Stanley, Thomas, John, and Robert, all of Cambridge Massachusetts. Steve is also survived by his loving children, Rachel Sabine of SouthYarmouth, Nicole Gargano of Eastham, and Steven Gargano of Hyannis. Steve was a grandfather to Rebecca Fitzpatrick of Barnstable, Nicholas Sabine of Dennis, Allison Nickerson of Eastham, and Raven Brown of Hyannis. He was the great-grandfather of Makayla Bishop of Barnstable. Steve was a fun loving father and best “Papi” to his grandchildren but had a very special spot in his heart for ‘grand-dog’ “Bentley.” Steve is also survived by many other loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for memorial donations be made to The Animal Rescue League of Boston, Cape Cod as his love for animals was perhaps one of his greatest attributes. Memorial services will be held private tentatively related to the ongoing pandemic.
