Obituary for Walbridge Ward Wright

Bob Wright of Dennis passed away at the age of 71 at home on June 12, 2019. He courageously battled a brain tumor meningioma for six years.
Bob is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dianne Prusha Wright and his son Andrew and his wife Mary of Santa Cruz, California. He is survived by his beautiful grandchildren, Kieran, Lucia, Oliver and Annabel. Bob is predeceased by his son Benjamin, brother Carey and his parents.
Bob was a graduate of Wellesley High School and Bryant and Stratton College of Business.
The name “Bob” was originated in a Fort Lauderdale boat yard. It was chosen to be embroidered on his uniform rather then Walby or Walbridge.
Bob always worked in the marine industry. He retired in 2008 from International Paint Company, Interlux. He received the Masters Award for outstanding achievement in the yacht division and the Emerald Club membership.
Bob was most happy on the water. He loved racing his J 22, “The Wright Stuff”, with his buddies at Hyannis Yacht Club.
He earned his Master 100 tons Merchant Marine License and loved his work on an educational touring and fishing vessel out of Woods Hole.
A memorial Mass will be held Friday, July 19 at 11 am at Our Lady of the Cape Church in Brewster.
Burial will be in Peterborough,NH with many generations of the Walbridge family. The cemetery deed passed on to us is dated 1919 and cost $10!
