Obituary for Warren Scott Griffith

Warren “Grumpa” Griffith, 73, of Bourne died peacefully on May 12th after a long battle with heart disease.  The son of George and Theresa Griffith -he was born in Somerville June 19, 1948 and graduated from Silver Lake Regional High School in Kingston, MA.  He married the love of his life Ann (Carlson) Griffith in 1986.
Warren worked as a carpenter for many years, as a park ranger with his wife in VT and in his retirement played professional poker.  He enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing and hunting. He struggled with many health conditions and fought through many illnesses over his life but always with a good spirit and a laugh. In his later years he loved spending time with his great-grandchildren, sitting on his front porch and of course playing poker and even traveled to Las Vegas to play in the WSOP.  Everyone who knew him will greatly miss his sarcasm and sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife Ann (Carlson) Griffith and daughters Lisa-Marie Podielsky and her husband William; Tara-Diane Shafer and her husband Todd.  He is also survived by his grandchildren Leila and Robert Frangieh, Morgan and Justin Weigold, Marissa St. Lawrence, Taylor and Noah Lemieux and Tiffany Shafer.  Also survived by 4 great-grandchildren – Jacob and Emma Frangieh and Charlotte and Harper Weigold. In addition, he leaves his siblings and a legacy of family and friends.
Our family would like to give a special thank you to Southcoast Hospice and their staff for their love and support in taking care of Warren for the past two years.
In lieu of flowers we would greatly appreciate donations be made to Southcoast Hospice. Donations can be made at https://www.southcoast.org/visiting-nurse-association/donate-southcoast-vna.
