Obituary for William George O'Connell
William G. O'Connell III (Billy) passed away unexpectedly July 26,2021
He was born on January 2,1942 to Lillian and William O'Connell jr. in Dorchester MA. As a teenager the family moved to Cohaaset. Billy graduated from CHS in 1960 and later that year enlisted in the United States Army serving in the 101st Airborne Division. He spent most of his life in Cohasset working for the United States Post Office for more than 40 years.
He was the loving father to Jessica L. Mccarthy and her husband Patrick. He is predeceased by daughter's Maureen and Jennifer O'Connell as well as his sister Denise Williams. He is also survived by his siblings Kathy Nini, Kevin and wife Susan O'Connell, Danny and wife Kim O'Connell, Eileen Meehan,Brian and wife Tina O'Connell, Timothy O'Connell, and David and wife Debbie O'Connell. He also leaves a dear friend Marilyn Dube. He was a beloved grandfather, great grandfather and uncle to multiple nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Buzzards Bay.
