Obituary for William A Souza
William A Souza, age 73, of Plymouth, MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 14, 2019. He was born in Cambridge, MA, and was the loyal son of the late Alfred and Delfina (Moscato) Souza.
William served in the Air Force from 1965 to 1968. After his military career he received his bachelor’s degree in Electric Engineering at Northeastern University and went on to run a successful company for 20+ years.
William married the love of his life, Deborah V Meehan on April 13, 1969, and recently they celebrated their 50th anniversary. William and Deborah resided on the North Shore for most of their marriage and in 2010 retired to Plymouth.
William most loved the time he spent with his family; watching Patriots games, fishing, golfing, and quahogging. He was a member of the Elks, The American Legion, and VFW. In his yearbook William wrote, life is what you make it, and he lived his life by those words.
Beside his wife, William is survived by daughters Tracy Kok and her husband Roy, Renee Souza and wife Tammy, and Nicole Souza, brother Alfred R Souza and grandchildren Ryan Kok and his wife Stephanie, Katelyn Kok, Scott Pease, Cameren Pease, and Xavier Pease. William also leaves behind his brother-in-law Richard Meehan and wife Marianne, sister-in-law Lorraine (Meehan) Mueller and husband Lenny, and many nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate William’s life will be held on Monday, September 23, 2019, 11:30 am, at St John’s Episcopal Church, 159 Main St, Sandwich MA. Immediately following the service with veteran honors, the interment will follow at the National Cemetery, Bourne MA.
