Alec J. Caruke, 94, passed away February 1st, 2012. "Lucky," as he was known to everyone from childhood, on, was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia. His family moved to South Boston in the 1920's. He spent most of his adult life in Weymouth, before moving to Plymouth in 2000.
He was the beloved husband to the late Alma Judith (Biciocchi) Caruke for 57 years. he is survived by his son Alan and his daughter in law, Kathy (Dawson) Caruke of Plymouth, and his 2 granddaughters, Kristen Caruke of Brooklyn, NY and Kaitlyn Caruke of Plymouth, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Lucky served four years as a Merchant Marine during WWII. He was also a tractor trailer driver for many years. Upon retiring, he drove a senior citizens bus, as he loved driving and helping others who were unable..
After a private family viewing, Lucky will be laid to rest in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Arrangements will be made by the Bartlett Santos Funeral Home.
