Jones, Mrs. Alice J (Hirtle), age 92, of Kingston, passed away peacefully, Saturday, April 9, 2011 with her family by her side. She was a beloved mother, sister and grandmother. She was born in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia to Fletcher and Minnie (Corkum) Hirtle. At age 3, Alice, along with her mother, immigrated to Quincy/Dorchester, MA. Alice worked for Dunkin Donuts as a waitress before retiring to be with her husband, Walter. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Walter Jones, Sr., grandson Joseph Warren Hatch, great granddaughter, Dianne Boutilier and her brother Elbert Hirtle. She leaves behind 2 daughters, Alice (and late husband, Edward) Michael and Catherine Salee of Kingston, 1 son, Walter (and late wife, Noreen) Jones, Jr. of Plymouth, 6 grandchildren; Victoria (William) Ryan and Kellieanne (Michael) Reilly of Florida, Elizabeth Jones, Walter (Brandi) Jones III, Edward Jones and Stephen (Robyn) Jones as well as 2 great grandsons, Stephen (Joey) Jones and Connor Jones, all of Massachusetts. She also leaves behind 2 sisters, Mildred (and late husband, Wesley) Hawes , of Hingham and Muriel (David) McBurnie of Weymouth. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Arrangements will be made by the Bartlett-Santos Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. A funeral service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, 149 Court Street, Plymouth, on Wednesday, April 13 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Knollwood Cemetery in Canton, MA. Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to attend.
