A Celebration of Ann "Sis" Gallagher
Ann Gallagher, known affectionately to many as “Sis,” was born in Boston in August,1932. She passed away peacefully in Harwich, MA on April 19, 2026, at the age of 93.
Ann was a devoted, lifelong educator who spent 45 years teaching high school, first for the City of Boston and later at Falmouth High School after moving to the Cape. Even after retiring from the classroom, her passion for watching children learn never waned. She went on to work for Elder Services of Cape Cod for 20 years, where she oversaw a senior program that connected public school children in need of tutoring with senior volunteers. This program brought her immense joy as it allowed her to combine her love for education and her belief in community and mentorship.
In her earlier years, Ann stayed active skiing and playing tennis. She had a social spirit and loved bringing people together; nothing made her happier than hosting neighborhood gatherings filled with laughter. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed the lively discussions of her book club and looked forward to weekly bridge games with her close friends. On quieter days, her favorite place to be was Red River Beach in Harwich, finding peace by the water.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Tracy (Gallagher) Clark and husband, Brian; her sister-in-law, Helen Corscadden, her step family and many nieces and nephews whom sheloved dearly. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Gallagher, herbrother, James Corscadden, Jr., and her parents.
Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate Ann on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Olivers Restaurant, 960 Main Street (Rt 6A), Yarmouthport from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Loved ones are welcome to drop in at any time during these hours to share memories and celebrate a life beautifully lived.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ann’s memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a charity that was close to her heart.
