Obituary

Ann Marie Nichols, born on July 27, 1947, in Plymouth, MA, passed away on June 14, 2024, in Pembroke, MA, due to complications of heart surgery. She was the loving wife of Bruce A. Nichols, devoted mother to Scott A. Nichols and Brett A. Nichols, cherished sister to Anita (Silva) Johnson, adored grandmother to Jake, Cody, and Cole Nichols, and beloved mother-in-law to Danielle and Julia Nichols. Ann is also survived by her nephews, Ryan and Gregory Johnson.

Ann was the daughter of Mary (Mamie) and John Silva, who she has now reunited with in the afterlife. She was surrounded by love in her final moments, just as she had surrounded her family with love throughout her life.

On Valentine's Day, February 14, 1970, Ann married her soulmate, Bruce, at St. Mary's church in North Plymouth, MA. Their marriage of 54 years was a true testament to love, loyalty, and partnership.

Ann was a graduate of Silver Lake High School and the Massachusetts School of Art. She was a talented artist who expressed her creativity through various mediums. She was an antique enthusiast and even owned her own shop, Annetiques, in Pembroke. Ann's passion for art extended to designing and making her own cards, as well as creating beautiful handcrafted items such as rugs, knitted and crocheted pieces, and clothing for her beloved dog, Bella. She loved to design and make early American primitive style hooked rugs; and she turned this love into a successful business selling the rugs and patterns nationally.

Despite her artistic talents and entrepreneurial spirit, Ann was a home-body at heart. She found joy in spending time with her family and friends, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere wherever she went. Her kind and gentle nature touched the lives of all who knew her.

A private Celebration of Life will be held to honor Ann's life and memory. The family wishes to express their gratitude to all the doctors, nurses, and therapists at Mass General Hospital who provided care and support to Ann during her difficult journey.

Ann Marie Nichols leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and kindness that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of crossing paths with her.

May her soul rest in peace.
