Anna E. Hitchcock, age 95, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, surrounded by her family at Laurelwood at Pinehills in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
Anna was born on July 20, 1930, in Boston, Massachusetts. She later made her home in Wellesley and Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, and spent many winters in Florida, enjoying time with family and friends.
A devoted nurse by profession, Anna dedicated her life to caring for others. She worked with handicapped children and, later in life, provided compassionate care for the elderly. Her kindness, patience, and commitment to service were hallmarks of her life and touched many.
Anna was a devoted wife to her late husband, Donald, and a loving mother of five children: Matt, Don, Mike, Kevin, and Deb. She was preceded in death by her son, Matt. Anna is survived by four children and eight cherished grandchildren: Mitch, Keegan, Nate, Luke, Nicole, Anton, Jaziah, and Jazzy.
Anna was known for her warm and social nature. She greatly enjoyed spending time with loved ones and had a special talent for sewing and knitting. She lovingly made pajamas for family and friends, a reflection of the care she took in everything she did. She was also fiercely competitive in the most good-natured way and found great joy in playing bingo and cards and numerous games.
Anna will be remembered for her generosity, her lively spirit, and her unwavering dedication to caring for others.
A service of celebration will be held in Anna's honor on Saturday, January 10, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church in Wellesley, Massachusetts. A gathering will follow the service at Papa Razzi Restaurant, 16 Washington Street, Wellesley, Massachusetts.
