Antone "Butch" Ramos of New Bedford died at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston on July 15th, 2019. The son of Irena Thimas and Antone Ramos, he was born in New Bedford on February 26th, 1943. He leaves behind his three children: Nancy Ann Ramos-Giles of California, Antone Ramos of Georgia, and Monique Ramos of Sagamore, his two grandchildren: Larissa Grady and Hilary Giles, both of California, his aunt Nancy Silva of New Bedford, and his fiancée Lea Oliveira of Plymouth. He is also survived by a great-grandchild. A lover of music, he was best known for his work as a DJ in the New England area. He also worked most of his life as a computer analyst. He loved sharing both of these passions with people, most notably his children. He was an enthusiastic pool player, often competing in and winning tournaments. An avid movie lover for most of his life, he took great pleasure in seeing the latest scifi movies. Those closest to him would also tell you he made the world's best omelettes. As a father and as a man, he always did his best to be there for his children and loved ones in their time of need. His absence leaves a great disturbance in the force, and he will be much missed. Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 25th from 4-7 pm with a memorial service at 6:00 pm. Friends are welcome to attend. Interment will be private.
