Obituary

Armand T. Mills, 88, a long time resident of Worcester, MA, passed away on July 29th, at Heights Crossing Assisted Living Facility in Brockton. He was the beloved and devoted husband of Jacqueline (Desilets) Mills for 65 years. Born and raised in Leominster, MA, he was the son of Thomas and Henrietta (Hebert) Mills, both from New Brunswick, Canada. He graduated from Leominster High School in 1942 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy that same year. A veteran of WWII, he was a Purple Heart recipient, having participated in three invasions including D-Day. Mr. Mills worked at Harr Ford Motors in Worcester for over 35 years. He enjoyed playing cards and pool, and tinkering. He was able to fix just about anything. He is survived by his son, John M. Mills and his wife Colleen, of Bridgewater; his grandson, Jason L. Mills and his wife, Anna, of Taunton; and his great-granddaughter, Alexis. He was predeceased by his brother, Rev. Eugene Mills, M.S.; and three sisters, Irene Gagne, Sister Viola Mills, of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit, and Rita Mills. He was a member of St. George's parish in Worcester. A funeral mass will held at St. Cecilia's Church in Leominster on Friday at 9 a.m., followed by a committal service at the Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon, MA. at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Old Colony Hospice, One Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA 02368.
