Obituary

Ruemker, Arthur, of Plymouth, age 91, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2011. He was the son of the late Frank and Francis (Henkle) Ruemker. He was born and raised in Plymouth, attending Plymouth schools. Arthur joined the US Army and fought in WWII. He was Past Commander of the Plymouth American Legion, Post 40 (1962 – 1963). He was a founding member of the Post 40 Legion Colorguard and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Arthur worked for the Cordage Company, then worked for Sacred Heart Schools. He later worked for the Town of Plymouth school department until his retirement. He was the loving father of Steve Ruemker and Catherine Pratt, both of Plymouth. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Stephen Pratt of Plymouth, Christopher Pratt & wife, Jennifer, of Carver, Andrea (Pratt) Cotta of Plymouth & Edward Pratt, Jr., of Plymouth and 2 great grandchildren, Caileyann Frances and Rena Michelle, as well as many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances (Lodi) and his brother, William. Funeral arrangements will be made by the Bartlett-Santos Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth on Friday, December 16, 2011 from 4-7 PM. A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary's church on Saturday, December 17th at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Arthur's name to the American Legion Post 40 Building Fund, 199 Federal Furnace Road, Plymouth, MA 02360
