Obituary

Mozinski, Bernard L. (98) passed away peacefully October 1st, his children were with him on the day of his passing and he followed his wife of 75 years, Ruth, who passed away only five weeks earlier. Bernie was born in Minto, North Dakota, he was predeceased by three brothers. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1941, which brought him to Boston, where he met and married, Ruth Nunes, the love of his life. Bernie is survived by his three children, Paulette Wallace of Bourne, Sandra Jensen of Plymouth and Bruce Mozinski and his wife, Barbara of Charlton. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Scott Wallace, Stacey Hennessey, Glenn Wallace and wife Regina, Danielle Donomme and husband Marc, Christopher Surdam and wife Cindy, Brian Mozinski and wife Katherine and Allison Kelleher, as well as, thirteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Bernie was soft-spoken, patient, generous, always the first to offer to help and believed in personal responsibility. He liked everyone and everyone liked Bernie, he was the biggest sweetheart ever. Over the last several years, as his mind began to slip away, he never failed to recognize each member of the family with his favorite greeting, "Hi doll!", as soon as you approached. Bernie worked as a diesel mechanic for several freight companies, retiring at age 62 but the "jack of all trades" could always be found helping to fix something for someone. On September 18th of this year, Bernie spent his 98th birthday visiting with each of his children. The family will hold a private gathering in celebration of Bernie's life.
