IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol A
Hammond
June 7, 1941 – December 13, 2022
Carol A. Hammond (LaGreca) of Plymouth, MA passed away suddenly surrounded by her
loving family on December 13, 2022, at the age of 81. To her family and close friends, she
was lovingly called Noni . . . the name she chose after her first grandson Michael Andrew
was born.
She had a deep faith that helped her through many life challenges and serious illnesses
which she either overcame, fought through, or lived with—such as multiple myeloma,
several eye diseases, back surgery, and Type 2 diabetes.
Noni was an artist and enjoyed painting and entering her works of art in local art shows—
the Marshfield Fair being one of her favorites. All around her home she hung various pieces
of artwork that she and her family enjoyed. Before she lost her sight, she often painted
Christmas ornaments and decorations with her grandchildren . . . these were especially
meaningful this year.
While her children and grandchildren were the "light of her life," her husband Brian was her
"person." On December 18, they would have celebrated their 52 nd wedding anniversary.
Instead of celebrating together on this important day, her family and close friends gathered
at her grandson's barn to build her "pine box" to be cremated in. It was lovingly built with
their hands and hearts to carry her physical body to its final journey,
As she wished, a private Goodbye Ceremony was held at
Bartlett Funeral Home, Plymouth, MA.
At 11:30 AM on Friday December 23rd, bells and ribbon wands were waved so that she
would hear them all the way up to heaven. This was in reference to her favorite movie, "A
Wonderful Life" where at the end of the movie a bell rings on the Christmas tree to signal
that the angel Clarence had earned his wings. Noni's dear family and friends were asked to please join in ringing bells from wherever they were to signal that she already earned them here on earth.
Noni leaves behind her husband Brian Hammond, her daughter Cheryl Botieri (Tripp) and
her husband Michael Botieri, their children Michael Andrew Botieri, his wife Ashley Botieri,
and their son Landon; Elizabeth Burroughs (Botieri), her husband Evon Burroughs, and
their sons Aaron and Charlie; Matthew Botieri and his partner Tricia Williamson; Sarah
Botieri and her fiancé Marty Madden; her son Loring Tripp and his partner Irene Cabral-
Thomas, his daughter Alex Morse, her husband Jeremy Morse, and daughter Clementine;
his daughter Olivia Brent, her husband Marty Brent, their son Henry and daughter Diana;
Brian Hammond Jr., his wife Kristin and his daughter Angelina.
She also leaves her dear siblings sister Catherine Morse (LaGreca) and her husband David
Morse; her brother Freddy LaGreca and his wife Sharon LaGreca; her brother Roger
LaGreca and his wife Anne La Greca; her brother Bart LaGreca; and sister-in-law Elaine
Hammond. In addition, several nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she remained in
contact with all across the country. Family and dear friends were the most important part
of her life.
She was predeceased by her loving family members brother Bobby LaGreca and Sister
Cynthia Pain (LaGreca), and her parents Dorothy LaGreca (Wager) and Fredrick LaGreca.
A Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends to honor Carol on Sunday,
January 29, from 2:00 -5:00 PM at the B3 Restaurant, 101 Kingston Collection Way, Kingston,
MA . In place of flowers please send memorial donations to Dana Farber Cancer Institute which helped her to live many, many more wonderful years with her family and friends
